(Granted, save transfer is a bit more complicated via emulator, I think.)ĪC3 is also a much better jumping on point for newcomers to the series. Also, you're able to carry your save file from AC3 into Silent Line, so you wouldn't have to start from scratch for both games, if you play AC3 first. You mentioned you don't care for story, but there will be some carry-over stuff that might make more sense if you've played AC3 first. I haven't emulated it, personally, so I'm not the best person to ask about emulating it - I've only played it on original hardware. I'm aware you can scale the resolutions up or rebind keys in an emulator, but the HUD/interface and quality of the models/assets is still much better on PS2. but I definitely can see the graphics downgrade, personally.ĮDIT: If you are emulating the game then I would still go with the PS2 original. Some people argue that the low resolution isn't as noticeable on such a small screen. I also find the PS2 controls to be much better (albeit the controls are still very, very dated compared to modern games). I think the PS2 original runs at 480p, and the PSP at 272p. While the PSP release was technically impressive for it's time, it has a much lower resolution and generally lower graphics quality than the PS2 version. My vote is definitely play the PS2 version if you have it, instead of PSP. Silent Line is also a pseudo-sequel or stand alone expansion to AC3, so it will make more sense if you do AC3 first to understand the story and context. My recollection is that AC3 does a better job of introducing new players to the setting and is notably less complicated (since SL adds in a ton of new parts and options to customize your AC, which expands the number or choices). ![]() My vote is play them in chronological order. Angered, the Forerunners and humanity began a 1,000-year war, with the San'Shyuum (known later to players as the Prophets) allying themselves with humanity. Using his children as test subjects, he determined the frequency of "The Mosquito". The push to create the product was when Stapleton's 17-year-old daughter went to the store to buy milk and was harassed by a group of 12- to 15-year-olds. The idea was born after he was irritated by a factory noise when he was a child. The Mosquito machine was invented and patented by Howard Stapleton in 2005, and was originally tested in Barry, South Wales, where it was successful in reducing teenagers loitering near a grocery store. The ability to hear high frequencies deteriorates in most humans with age (a condition known as presbycusis), typically observable by the age of 18. The maximum potential output sound pressure level is stated by the manufacturer to be 108 decibels (dB)(comparable in loudness to a live rock concert) and the manufacturer's product specification furthermore states that the sound can typically be heard by people below 25 years of age. The latest version of the device, launched late in 2008, has two frequency settings, one of approximately 17.4 kHz that can generally be heard only by young people, and another at 8 kHz that can be heard by most people. Nicknamed " Mosquito" for the buzzing sound it plays, the device is marketed as a safety and security tool for preventing youths from congregating in specific areas. ![]() In some versions, it is intentionally tuned to be heard primarily by younger people. ![]() The Mosquito or Mosquito alarm is a machine used to deter loitering by emitting sound at high frequency. In the comments below, feel free to tell me whether I’ve succeeded. Some of what I’m doing is also an attempt to stake out a fourth gameplay style for warlocks. The new spells are a patch on the extremely small number of low-level necromancy spells that I could assign to the Patron. Obviously, that meant I had to write a new Patron option for the Warlock class, and in so doing I also wrote a new Pact and three new necromantic spells. The PCs have known they would eventually run into such warlocks, but this is the first time it has happened. In my campaign, I recently introduced warlocks serving the Nightwalker, my setting’s version of the Grim Reaper. 4 Jul, 2015 in 5e DnD / Aurikesh / design ideas / free content tagged spells by Brandes Stoddard Gives you full control over the system's connections. ![]() It displays prompts to you whenever events happen for which no rules exist.

If your windows are particularly old and have never, or at least not in the last 30 years, had the putty replaced then there is a chance that the putty itself may contain asbestos. This common misconception does lead some DIY’ers to try and replace panes of glass into frames just using the putty to hold it with not much success and more often than not a smashed pane of glass on the floor.įortunately, if the window putty was applied correctly in the first place, it can last for many many years before it needs to be replaced, so thankfully, this shouldn’t be a job that needs to be done too often.Ī single pane glazed window using traditional putty to seal it that’s now old and damaged A Quick Note on Asbestos and Lead Paint The glazing putty is simply there to seal the glass to the frame and prevent any draughts or water ingress into the frame. Small nails or spriggs as they are also known were then hammered down into the frame to hold the glass in place.Ĭontrary to what some people think, it’s the nails that hold the glass in the frame and not the glazing putty. Why was Glazing Putty Used?īack in the days before upvc and double glazing, windows were traditionally formed by using either steel (usually galvanized) or timber to build the frame and a single pane of glass was dropped into it. This may sound like a very simply straight forward job, but if you have never done it before there is a fairly wide scope for things to go wrong, so read on below for tips on how to remove old putty with the minimum of fuss.
